Mail Processing / Machine Operator

- Monday: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- Tuesday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Schedule flexibility required based on business needs and RITA tax season
- Hours may shift to 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM as needed
Position Overview
The Mail Processing / Machine Operator is responsible for supporting incoming mail operations, operating transport and Falcon machines, and performing manual extraction functions in a fast-paced production environment. This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, maintain productivity goals, and work efficiently while handling high transaction volumes with accuracy.
The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a physically active environment with changing operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate incoming mail and transport processing equipment
- Operate Falcon machines and assist with manual extraction processes
- Process routine operational and administrative tasks within established procedures
- Follow clearly defined workflows and production guidelines
- Perform filing, recording, processing, and organization of documentation
- Assist with reviewing documentation and ensuring proper procedures are followed
- Handle routine billing inquiries, service requests, and customer-related issues as assigned
- Maintain production and accuracy standards while processing high transaction volumes
- Perform simple scheduled and non-scheduled machine maintenance functions
- Accurately key and process data
- Support banking and payment processing operations as needed
- Complete additional duties assigned by management
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for 8 hours per day
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, and sit as needed
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Ability to operate transport and processing machines
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 0–1 years of experience in a production, operations, banking, mailroom, or office support environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with 10-key data entry with speed and accuracy
- Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems and applications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Basic knowledge of banking policies, procedures, and government regulations
- Familiarity with loan documentation and payment processing channels including ACH, Lockbox, OLDS, and wires
- Experience handling high-volume transaction processing environments
- Experience independently resolving customer inquiries and difficult situations
