Title: Lead Shift Supervisor
Shift hours:5:00 am to 3:30 pm or 8:30 am to 7:00 pm.

GENERAL PURPOSE:
This is a position within a recycling facility that is responsible for overseeing the production floor, designating co-workers to specified areas and promoting a safe environment. This position requires constant communication with co-workers to ensure the tasks at hand are carried out accordingly.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead co-workers to include schedules, training, productivity, and discipline when necessary
Oversee the daily production schedule, including overseeing floor
Help facilitate morning meetings in conjunction with fellow co-workers which should include a daily safety topic(s), inbound/outbound loads, production schedule, etc.
Be knowledgeable of balers, sort lines and hoggers if associated with designated facility
Help operators in regard to efficiency and help them achieve the optimum throughput for the equipment
Responsible for ensuring quality systems are in place and comply with customer specifications
Oversee production of inbound material on a timely basis per schedule
Create and maintain a strong safety culture
On the production floor several hours throughout the day to ensure safety and production goals are being met
Fill-in on equipment when co-workers are absent
Oversee the organization of the workspace and tools to increase efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have high school diploma or General Education degree (G.E.D.).
Must have ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos.
Preferred experience in overseeing / managing a group of co-workers
Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules / training.
Must have ability to perform basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, fractions, etc.)
Must have the ability to multi-task with various interruptions.
Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outloook, etc.)
Must be able to maintain good attendance.
Be knowledgeable of all rolling stock associated with designated facility, including but not limited to forklifts, front-end loaders, and skid steers
Forklift experience required
OSHA training is a plus
Recycling experience is a plus
Willing to work the hours needed to complete the daily tasks
Excellent communication skills
Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
