We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our client's manufacturing team. This role is responsible for inspecting electrical and mechanical assemblies, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and resolving production quality issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-process, final, and pre-shipment inspections of electrical and mechanical assemblies.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct production line checks and maintain accurate inspection, testing, and traceability records.
- Provide technical guidance to inspectors and production personnel.
- Identify and resolve routine quality issues on the production floor.
- Manage nonconforming materials and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintain inspection equipment and calibration records.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure product quality and compliance.
- Follow safety procedures and stop production when quality or safety concerns arise.
Qualifications
- Experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IPC standards, including IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and J-STD-001, or willingness to learn.
- Experience using measurement tools and maintaining quality documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Rail industry or electrical equipment manufacturing experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform hands-on inspections.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform visual inspections and work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
