Specific Responsibilities
- Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC ) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Manage and direct operators.
- Train and manage CNC Operators on operation, set-ups, maintenance, time & attendance, machine safety
- Responsible for maintaining quality control of all parts produced on CNC machines.
- Responsible for all the processes of the CNC Machines (Setups, loading parts, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, milling, turning, drilling, taping, all bench operations, and inspect).
- Inspect and measure all in process and finished work pieces to determine conformance to specifications.
- Capable of running multiple machines concurrently, when tasked.
- Report and document any equipment malfunctions to direct supervisor
- Work within the standard operation procedures and job safety parameters.
- Communicate with all co-workers and shifts.
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions immediately to their direct supervisor.
- Operate one or more machines on a daily basis depending solely on the needs of the organization.
- Basic machine maintenance (oils, coolants in accordance with TPM sheets)
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years CNC machining experience, with demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform above responsibilities.
- Experience in leadership role as Lead Machinist or Supervisor.
- CNC Milling and Lathe experience; Machines are: Mazak, OKK, Niigata, Puma
- MS Office and ERP System experience. Company uses Epicor 10
- Excellent problem solving, multi-tasking, and communication skills. Creative and flexible
- Experience with manual inspection tools, calipers, CNC tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures and other accessories used
- Mathematical skills including geometry and algebra.
- High attention to detail.
- Read travelers and work orders
- Excellent problem solving, multi-tasking, and English communication skills, Spanish a plus.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
