To perform laboratory tests according to prescribed standards and procedures. To determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid, liquid or gaseous material for such purposes as quality, process and environmental controls and / or product development.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Laboratory Resource
- Coordinate and analyze incoming raw material, in process and final product samples, determining disposition of these materials as outlined by MMP Unit quality standards and laboratory procedures
- Collect, deliver and dispose of MMP Unit samples. (Collection of MMP Unit samples requires use of a full-face respirator)
- Maintain accurate and complete records of sample analysis
- Perform daily CMS checks
- Assist with MMP Unit online analytical maintenance and calibration
- Maintain laboratory instrumentation
- Perform necessary tasks outside of the above accountabilities to meet the evolving needs of the laboratory and production processes
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology or related discipline; or three years of equivalent lab, I&E, or industry experience
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with management and production personnel
- A working knowledge of laboratory equipment, its function and maintenance
- Good knowledge in Quality Management, ISO 90001/14001
- Ability to work with computers
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to perform tasks under breathing air
- A working knowledge in the following systems: LabWorks LIMS System; Gas Chromatography; Microsoft Office Suite
