Contract to Hire
Pay Rate Range: $30.00-40.00 based on experience
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Jr Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and bring hands-on proficiency with SolidWorks alongside a strong foundation in ISO 9000 standards.
This role requires sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with our sales team and clients on product inquiries and technical questions. Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) is a plus.
Responsibilities of the Jr. Mechanical Engineer (SolidWorks) Job in Willoughby, OH:
- Design & Development: Assist in the research, and prototyping of mechanical components or assemblies using CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- ISO 9001 Compliance: Ensure that all activities, from manufacturing, meet the quality objectives outlined in ISO 9001:2015.
- Testing & Validation: Develop verification plans and conduct product testing to ensure performance, reliability, and safety standards are met.
- Documentation: Maintain critical records, including Design Master Records (DMR), Design History Files (DHF), and Engineering Change Notices (ECN), for audit readiness.
- Process Improvement: Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for non-conformances discovered during internal audits or production. Develop an SPC system.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve engineering issues and qualify vendors.
Requirements & Qualifications of the Jr. Mechanical Engineer (SolidWorks) Job in Willoughby, OH:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Experience: Entry-level to 3 years of experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in 3D modeling, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and risk management tools like FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving, technical writing, and the ability to work under general supervision.
