Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare raw meat for processing by trimming, slicing, seasoning, and marinating according to company recipes and procedures.
- Load and unload products into smokers, dehydrators, and other processing equipment.
- Monitor production lines to ensure consistent product quality and food safety compliance.
- Package, label, and inspect finished products for accuracy and quality.
- Clean and sanitize production equipment, workstations, utensils, and processing areas following established sanitation procedures.
- Perform washroom duties, including cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment, floors, drains, walls, and other designated production areas to maintain food safety and regulatory compliance.
- Dispose of waste and maintain cleanliness in production and washroom areas.
- Operate cleaning equipment and use approved cleaning chemicals safely and according to company procedures.
- Operate production equipment safely and report any mechanical issues or malfunctions.
- Follow all company safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) procedures.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing production and sanitation duties.
- Record production and sanitation activities accurately as required.
- Assist with inventory management by stocking ingredients, packaging materials, and sanitation supplies as needed.
- Work as part of a team to meet daily production and sanitation goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, production, or sanitation is preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures, including refrigerated production areas.
- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality, cleanliness, and workplace safety.
- Reliable attendance and the ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime when needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of food safety, sanitation, GMPs, and HACCP principles.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to food processing equipment, refrigerated areas, cleaning chemicals, water, and production noise.
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand movements.
- Required use of personal protective equipment, including gloves, aprons, boots, hairnets, safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE as required.
