Janitorial/Facilities Maintenance Associate

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitorial/Facilities Maintenance Associate to support cleanliness, safety, and facility operations within a manufacturing and office environment in Rochester, NY. This temp-to-perm opportunity offers candidates the chance to demonstrate their skills and transition into a permanent role based on performance and business needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in janitorial, custodial, or facilities maintenance work and take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional workplace. This role requires someone who is comfortable working independently, performing physical tasks, and supporting daily facility upkeep.
Pay Rate:
- $18.00 - $19.00/Hour (Based On Experience)

- 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM | Monday - Friday OR 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM | Monday - Friday
Job Duties:
- Clean and sanitize restrooms including toilets, sinks, mirrors, counters, floors, partitions, and dispensers
- Restock restroom supplies including paper products and soap
- Maintain cleanliness throughout hallways, entryways, stairways, offices, breakrooms, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean floors, carpets, rugs, and mats
- Dust and wipe down desks, furniture, counters, ledges, and other surfaces
- Clean interior and exterior windows, glass doors, and entrance areas
- Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners as needed
- Perform routine cleaning activities within manufacturing areas while following safety procedures
- Maintain exterior grounds including sidewalks, entrances, parking areas, loading docks, and surrounding areas
- Remove debris, leaves, trash, and other materials from outdoor spaces
- Assist with snow removal and salting walkways during winter weather
- Organize and maintain pallet and skid storage/disposal areas
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, leaks, spills, damaged equipment, and supply shortages
- Safely operate cleaning equipment and handle chemicals according to SDS requirements and company procedures
- Complete required safety training and follow all workplace safety policies
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Previous janitorial, custodial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards
- Reliable attendance and dependable work habits
- Ability to safely follow cleaning procedures and workplace safety guidelines
- Experience using floor scrubbers, floor buffers, pressure washers, and ladders preferred
- Familiarity with SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and proper chemical handling preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to report concerns appropriately
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive physical activity
- Ability to climb step ladders and perform general maintenance-related tasks
- Comfortable working in manufacturing, warehouse, office, and outdoor environments
- Exposure to noise, moving equipment, industrial conditions, and changing temperatures
- Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals, airborne particles, wet conditions, and elevated work areas
- Ability to safely perform duties while wearing required PPE and following facility safety standards
