Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of IT to lead the organization's technology strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT operations. This role will oversee all IT functions while managing a small IT team and ensuring technology initiatives align with broader business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise combined with proven leadership experience and a background in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or a similarly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all IT functions, including infrastructure, servers, networking, cybersecurity, business applications, laptops/desktops, printers, and telecommunications.
- Ensure compliance with CMMC, NIST 800-171, and other applicable defense-industry cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain the organization's IT roadmap, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a small IT team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
- Manage relationships with third-party IT vendors and service providers, ensuring high-quality service delivery and value.
- Oversee the execution of technology projects, system upgrades, integrations, and other IT initiatives.
- Maintain and improve systems reliability, data integrity, cybersecurity, and business continuity.
- Provide executive-level visibility into IT performance, risks, opportunities, and strategic priorities.
- Establish and maintain IT policies, standards, governance procedures, and best practices.
- Support end users by ensuring efficient, responsive, and customer-focused IT service.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Quality Management System procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of IT management or leadership experience, preferably within a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CMMC and NIST 800-171 cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, cloud environments, and network security.
- Strong track record in strategic IT planning, budgeting, and vendor management.
- Excellent project management and people leadership skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to support remote operations or partner sites.
- Must be a U.S. Person or a non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and/or hybrid IT environments.
- Prior IT leadership experience in a multi-site or manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting organizations with defense-industry cybersecurity and compliance requirements.
