Job Description
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records by performing physical inventory counts, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring inventory data is current and reliable. This role supports inventory accuracy by comparing physical stock to system records, generating inventory reports, and identifying shortages or defective materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform physical inventory counts and record inventory totals.
- Compare physical inventory to system and office records to ensure accuracy.
- Calculate current inventory levels using sales orders, production records, and purchase invoices.
- Verify inventory calculations and investigate discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records.
- Correct inventory count or calculation errors and document findings.
- Generate inventory reports, including inventory balances and shortage reports.
- Prepare lists of depleted inventory items for replenishment.
- Identify defective or unusable inventory and recommend items for review or disposal.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support inventory control processes.
