Position Summary
The Inventory Support Contractor is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy by performing physical counts, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This role works in a fast-paced, occasionally high-volume environment and requires strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Count merchandise in stock and update inventory records accordingly
- Compare physical inventory counts to system records, including sales orders, production records, and purchase invoices
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies; adjust errors and document findings
- Verify clerical computations against physical counts and report inconsistencies
- Generate inventory reports, including balance reports and shortage analyses
- Prepare lists of depleted items and recommend review of defective or unusable inventory
- Communicate findings and collaborate with operations teams to correct inventory issues
- Support ongoing process improvements to maintain accurate inventory levels
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Perform routine inventory counts and audits
- Investigate discrepancies and identify root causes
- Communicate findings to relevant teams
- Assist in correcting operational errors impacting inventory accuracy
- Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience in inventory, warehouse, or similar environment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food manufacturing or distribution environments
- Strong computer and technical skills; ability to quickly learn new systems
