Position Overview
Under the direction of the Department Manager, this position is responsible for protecting investor interests by ensuring insurance requirements are properly maintained for commercial properties held as collateral. The role focuses on monitoring insurance compliance, assessing risk, reviewing documentation, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor insurance compliance for commercial properties held as collateral for various lenders and investors.
- Review and analyze insurance policies and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
- Perform insurance analysis and risk assessments.
- Process and monitor insurance premium disbursements from escrow accounts.
- Review property appraisals and related documentation.
- Ensure activities comply with:
- Individual investor guidelines
- Pooling and Servicing Agreements
- Applicable laws and regulations
- Mortgage and loan documentation
- Identify insurance deficiencies, discrepancies, or potential areas of risk and assist with resolution.
- Correspond with borrowers, insurance agents, servicers, lenders, and investors regarding insurance-related matters.
- Coordinate with various internal departments to obtain documentation and resolve outstanding issues.
- Handle insurance matters in a timely, efficient, and responsible manner while protecting investor interests.
