Inside Sales Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Inside Sales Specialist to join our manufacturing sales team. In this role, you will serve as a critical link between customers, outside sales representatives, and internal operations managing the full quote-to-order lifecycle with accuracy, urgency, and professionalism. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and a solid understanding of pricing fundamentals including margin and markup.Key Responsibilities
Quoting & Order Management- Handle inbound quote requests received via phone and email promptly and accurately.
- Prepare, review, and issue customer quotations in alignment with pricing strategies, factoring in both margin and markup.
- Process customer purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in pricing, part numbers, lead times, and shipping details.
- Perform timely follow-up on open quotes to drive conversions and maintain customer engagement.
- Issue and manage purchase orders to suppliers and internal production teams as required.
- Follow up with vendors and internal stakeholders to confirm order acknowledgments, delivery schedules, and any changes.
- Proactively communicate delays or discrepancies to customers and outside sales before they become issues.
- Monitor and track open orders from placement through delivery, ensuring on-time fulfillment.
- Provide customers with shipment updates, tracking numbers, and estimated delivery information.
- Identify and escalate potential shipping or fulfillment issues in a timely manner.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for inbound customer inquiries, maintaining a professional and responsive communication standard.
- Collaborate closely with outside sales representatives to support their accounts, relay key customer information, and ensure seamless handoffs.
- Coordinate with internal departments including production, shipping, and purchasing to resolve order-related questions and issues.
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of all customer interactions, quotes, and orders in the CRM or ERP system.
Qualifications
Required- 2 years of inside sales, customer service, or order management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of margin vs. markup pricing concepts and their application in quoting.
- Exceptional attention to detail able to manage multiple open orders and quotes simultaneously without errors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Proficiency with ERP or CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting outside sales teams in a team-selling environment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing lead times, BOM structures, or technical product specifications.
- Background in reading and interpreting purchase orders, RFQs, and commercial terms.
