JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible to set up and operate all inserting equipment for producing all mailing projects in compliance with job specifications, current postal regulations, and in accordance with company quality standards and procedures. Coordinates workload schedule for inserting, metering and sorting mail pieces to meet customer timeframe requirements while achieving optimum productivity. Performs daily/weekly/monthly maintenance on equipment to ensure optimum output. Works closely with other team members to exceed customer expectations. Inserter Operator - Key Skills. PHYSICAL TASKS: Lifting: Raising objects from lower to higher and/or higher to lower position or moving objects horizontally from position to position up to 50 lbs. * Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction frequently. * Sitting: Maintaining body position by resting upon the buttocks. * Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances. * Standing: Frequent ? Particularly for sustained periods of time. * Grasping: Used in the normal execution of daily tasks. AUDIO/VISUAL: * Requires normal near and far vision sufficient to safely operate and work in moving lift equipment ? and material handling environment. * Requires peripheral vision. * Requires depth perception. * Requires ability to discern colors of paper. * Requires sufficient hearing to hear and interpret sounds. EXPOSURES: * Subject to paper dust. * Subject to noise; hearing protection recommended. PSYCHOLOGICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: * Subject to frequent overtime requirements/short notice. * Subject to changing priorities in assignment, after with short notice. * Subject to frequent pressure to meet established deadlines. * Must respond to frequent demands of multiple customers (internal and external). COMMUNICATIONS: * Requires the ability to communicate effectively, using both oral and written means. * Must be able to provide instructions and exchange ideas and must be able to interpret others accurately. Inserter Operator - Work Experience JOB SPECIFICATIONS: * High school or GED equivalent preferred. * Requires good mathematical skills and attention to detail. * Ability to apply written instruction to machine set-up and maintenance. * Thorough knowledge of equipment problem-solving. * Basic computer familiarity. * Basic knowledge of current postal regulations, and the basic elements of mailing and printing in order to communicate with other production associates about the work requirements. * Ability to move freely throughout the building to gather information, materials and authorizations.
