IT Project Manager III
Overview
Client is seeking an IT Project Manager III to lead cross-functional projects of medium to high complexity from initiation through completion. This role partners with stakeholders, technical teams, cybersecurity leadership, vendors, and business units to deliver technology projects that align with project objectives, governance standards, and budget expectations.
The successful candidate will manage software, hardware, ERP, security, and other IT-focused initiatives while driving communication, risk management, financial oversight, project planning, and stakeholder alignment. This position requires strong project management discipline, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively within a matrix organization.
Core Responsibilities
• Manage assigned IT PMO projects with minimal supervision, ensuring alignment to project scope, objectives, schedules, budgets, and desired outcomes.
• Lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate activities across stakeholders, business partners, technical resources, and vendors.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules to track progress and ensure successful project delivery.
• Organize and facilitate status meetings, project reviews, workshops, training sessions, and governance activities.
• Prepare and deliver weekly project status reporting and presentations covering timelines, accomplishments, health indicators, upcoming milestones, risks, and issues.
• Monitor project scope, schedule, costs, risks, actions, decisions, and opportunities, implementing appropriate controls and mitigation strategies.
• Manage project-related financial processes, including forecasting, budget tracking, accruals, reclassifications, and variance reporting.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and system integrators to ensure alignment with project deliverables, statements of work, invoicing requirements, and timelines.
• Build consensus among stakeholders, facilitate issue resolution, support escalation processes, and ensure effective communication across project teams.
• Create, maintain, and store project documentation and project records in accordance with established governance standards.
• Promote and enforce project management best practices while supporting successful project execution and closure.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
• 5 to 7 years of experience managing multiple software, hardware, ERP, and/or technology projects.
• Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams across functional work streams.
• Proven experience managing implementation projects involving multiple system integrators with shared responsibilities.
• Proven experience leading software releases, ERP implementations, and/or security-focused projects.
• Experience applying project management best practices to guide projects through planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery.
• Strong understanding of project scope, cost, and schedule management, including control of project triple constraints.
• Experience performing risk management, issue management, change control, and stakeholder management activities.
• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project.
• Ability to identify, document, communicate, and manage project risks, issues, and problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present project information clearly and concisely.
• Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to perform effectively in dynamic and complex environments.
Preferred Skills or Experience
• Experience within the energy industry.
• Experience working in an Information Technology environment.
• Experience working with or managing projects supporting Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and/or Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) teams.
• Master's degree.
Work Details
