Position Summary
Under the direction of the Paint and Coating Manager, the Industrial Painter / Blaster is responsible for preparing, priming, and applying coatings to metal equipment and components in accordance with product specifications and production schedules. This position requires attention to detail, strong manual dexterity, and the ability to operate and maintain industrial painting equipment safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Apply polyurethane, primer, paint, and other specialty coatings to metal surfaces and fabricated structures
  • Sandblast structures and equipment to prep steel for paint
  • Prepare and mask metal structures for coating; ensure surfaces are properly cleaned and treated prior to painting
  • Operate and maintain electrostatic spray systems, pressurized pot and cup spray equipment, and related tools
  • Mix and blend paint systems to match application specifications, adjusting viscosity and finish as required
  • Clean and maintain all painting and coating equipment, ensuring proper storage and care of materials
  • Repair and remodel surface imperfections to achieve high-quality finishes
  • Perform coating and finishing of exterior steel, machinery, and fabricated structures
  • Prepare and protect work areas with drop cloths, masking, and other protective materials
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, and other equipment as needed to move and position components for painting
  • Perform quality checks and corrective actions to ensure coating standards and specifications are met
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety policies and standards
Qualifications
  • Prior experience as an industrial or commercial painter required not an entry-level position
  • Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, paint specifications, and work orders
  • Proficient with industrial paint mixing, spray, and finishing tools
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed technical instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • Must pass a vision-based drug screen
  • Clean background preferred no violent crimes, theft, or drug-related offenses
