Purpose
Champion a facility-wide 6S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) and Value Stream Mapping transformation. This role embeds Lean Manufacturing into daily operations, eliminates waste, and maximizes the use of space, equipment, and personnel.
Core Responsibilities
6S Program Leadership
- Design, implement, and sustain a plant-wide 6S program
- Conduct baseline audits and establish visual standards
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly audit processes
- Create and enforce clear 6S policies, checklists, and visual controls
Workflow & Layout Optimization
- Map current-state value streams and identify inefficiencies
- Redesign workstations and equipment layouts to improve flow
- Support cellular manufacturing and reduce waste in motion, transport, and inventory
Waste Reduction & Continuous Improvement
- Lead Kaizen events focused on 6S waste elimination and value stream improvements
- Identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions
- Track and quantify cost savings and productivity improvements
Training & Culture Development
- Train and coach teams to adopt and sustain 6S practices
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Develop dashboards and metrics to monitor performance and drive action
Continuous Improvement Governance
- Maintain a structured system for employee-driven improvement ideas
- Facilitate regular 6S reviews and performance discussions
- Recognize and reinforce successful improvements to sustain engagement
Required Experience
- 5 years leading 5S/6S programs in large-scale manufacturing environments
- Proven success redesigning plant layouts to support Lean flow and efficiency
- Experience facilitating Value Stream Mapping workshops
- Background in CCA (Circuit Card Assembly) manufacturing
- Experience in cable and harness manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or equivalent certification)
