Position Overview
An advanced manufacturing facility is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician III to support critical building infrastructure and HVAC systems throughout a large production environment. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing commercial and industrial HVAC equipment that supports both facility operations and manufacturing processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with commercial HVAC systems, chilled water systems, rooftop units, air handlers, cooling towers, building automation controls, and facility maintenance. This position requires a highly skilled technician capable of independently diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues while ensuring maximum system reliability and uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment
- Maintain and repair rooftop units (RTUs), air handling units (AHUs), exhaust systems, split systems, and related HVAC infrastructure
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues involving motors, VFDs, control circuits, sensors, actuators, and HVAC controls
- Support facility utility systems including chilled water, cooling towers, pumps, compressors, and ventilation systems
- Monitor and maintain building comfort, air quality, and environmental control systems
- Work with Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) to troubleshoot alarms, system performance, and operational issues
- Perform facility maintenance activities including lighting, plumbing, and general building support as needed
- Coordinate with outside contractors, vendors, and inspectors for repairs, service, and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, PM documentation, and inventory of critical spare parts
- Support facility improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and infrastructure modifications
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and facility emergencies to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity
- Follow all safety procedures, including LOTO, OSHA standards, and company safety policies
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills with HVAC electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience working on RTUs, AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, compressors, and ventilation systems
- Familiarity with VFDs, control circuits, sensors, actuators, and HVAC control systems
- Experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) preferred
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
- EPA Certification preferred
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, semiconductor, or large commercial facilities preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Technical school, HVAC certification, or related trade training preferred
Work Environment
- Advanced manufacturing facility environment
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, and equipment access work
- Exposure to mechanical rooms, rooftops, production areas, and industrial equipment
- Overtime and occasional emergency response support may be required
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range:$35-$45+/hr DOE
