Human Resources Generalist
Position Overview
The Human Resources Generalist provides broad HR support while serving as a steward of company culture and employee experience. This role delivers professional guidance and administration across multiple HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, HR compliance, employee records management, HRIS administration, reporting, benefits support, and training initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, analytical, customer-service focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Employee Support
- Provide HR generalist support across multiple functional areas
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR programs
- Respond to inquiries from:
- Applicants
- Employees
- Government agencies
- External organizations
- Deliver a high level of customer service and professionalism
- Support and promote the company's desired culture and employee experience
Recruiting & Staffing
- Administer hiring processes for hourly and non-exempt positions
- Post job openings and review resumes
- Conduct screening interviews
- Coordinate pre-employment screening activities
- Prepare and send offer confirmations and post-acceptance documentation
- Coordinate with hiring managers throughout the recruiting process
Onboarding & Orientation
- Guide employees through the onboarding process
- Conduct new employee orientation sessions
- Ensure new hires receive:
- Benefits information
- Company policies
- Required onboarding documentation
- Develop, coordinate, and communicate orientation schedules
- Follow up with new employees regarding onboarding questions
- Lead orientation programs for both direct hires and temporary agency employees
- Evaluate and improve onboarding and orientation processes to enhance employee experience
HR Compliance & Records Management
- Review and audit I-9 forms to ensure accurate completion and compliance
- Follow up with hiring managers regarding missing or incomplete documentation
- Maintain accurate employee information within HRIS systems
- Audit and maintain electronic and physical employee files
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
Reporting & Data Analysis
- Compile, analyze, and track key HR metrics and data
- Generate reports and provide recommendations based on findings
- Support HR decision-making through data analysis and reporting
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant Human Resources experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and technical abilities
- Solid computer and HRIS system skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with onboarding, recruiting, HR compliance, and employee records management
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry experience
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification
- Ability to obtain SHRM certification within one year of employment
