Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced  Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist  to join our Cleveland manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating and setting up large-scale CNC horizontal boring mills used to machine heavy cast iron components and industrial parts requiring deep-hole drilling, precision boring, and tight dimensional tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate large CNC horizontal boring mills to machine complex, heavy industrial components.  G&L CNC Horizontal Boring Mill  – 6 " spindle, 120 " Y-axis, 168 " X-axis/  G&L CNC Horizontal Boring Mill  – 5 " spindle, 96 " Y-axis, 129 " X-axis
  • Perform deep-hole drilling, precision boring, milling, and related machining operations.
  • Set up machine tooling and make necessary tool changes and adjustments.
  • Enter and adjust tool offsets within the machine's CNC control.
  • Read and interpret CNC  G-code and M-code.
  • Inspect finished and in-process components to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • Accurately use precision inspection equipment including  micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, bore gauges, and related measuring instruments.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, machining specifications, and dimensional requirements.
  • Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Safely handle and position large and heavy workpieces.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating  CNC horizontal boring mills  is strongly preferred.
  • CNC lathe experience involving parts approximately  5 "–15 " in diameter  is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of CNC  G-code and M-code programming.
  • Proven ability to set up machine tooling and adjust tool offsets using a CNC control.
  • Experience with a  tool presetter  is a plus.
  • Ability to read and accurately use micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, bore gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment screening.
  • Must be willing to work required overtime, including weekdays and Saturdays.

Pay: $24 –$36 per hour, based on experience
Shift:  1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Schedule:  Overtime weekdays and Saturdays as required
