Overview

Client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, secure, and support enterprise network infrastructure for integration center and data center operations. This role will maintain network availability across multiple client environments while supporting large-scale integration, configuration, testing, and deployment services.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage network infrastructure across data center environments and client-specific deployments.
  • Maintain highly available switching, routing, wireless, and network security platforms.
  • Monitor network performance and improve infrastructure scalability, resiliency, capacity, and availability.
  • Perform network upgrades, firmware maintenance, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.
  • Design and implement enterprise network architectures incorporating segmentation, redundancy, high availability, and security controls.
  • Develop network diagrams, implementation plans, operating procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls.
  • Implement VLANs, ACLs, VPNs, intrusion prevention, and network security policies.
  • Configure and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP routing.
  • Support network assessments, vulnerability remediation, audits, compliance activities, and security incidents.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for network issues affecting client environments.
  • Support large-scale hardware, software, and infrastructure deployment projects.
  • Participate in client meetings, technical workshops, solution reviews, and pre-sales consultations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, operations, sales, project management, and integration teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

  • 5 years of enterprise network engineering, data center operations, or managed services experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco switching, routing, and wireless technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying, administering, and troubleshooting Palo Alto Networks firewalls and security solutions.
  • Experience supporting complex multi-site and multi-client network environments.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, ACLs, and network security.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
  • Experience with network monitoring, performance analysis, capacity planning, and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Ability to design, implement, document, and independently support enterprise network solutions.
  • Experience supporting network change management, infrastructure upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects and competing priorities.

Preferred Skills or Experience

  • Cisco CCNP Enterprise certification or equivalent experience.
  • Palo Alto PCNSE certification.
  • Experience with spine-and-leaf architectures, VXLAN, or software-defined networking.
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus 9000, Cisco Catalyst, and enterprise wireless platforms.
  • Knowledge of Azure and AWS network connectivity.
  • Network automation experience using Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
  • Experience supporting integration centers, staging facilities, or large-scale deployment operations.
  • Experience with load balancing and SD-WAN technologies.

Work Details

  • Located in Hanover Park, Illinois.
  • Onsite presence required four days per week.
  • 16-week contract.
  • Participation in planned after-hours maintenance windows and on-call support may be required.
  • Limited travel may be required.
  • Work may be performed within data center and warehouse environments.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift networking and IT equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
