Position Overview
The Grant Coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive support in the development, coordination, and management of State and Federal grant programs. This role assists with the administration of Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) grants and supports Emergency Management staff and applicants throughout the grant application and project lifecycle. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in grant administration, accounting, or financial documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and management of State and Federal grant applications and awards.
- Support Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) projects and Fire Management Assistance Grants (FMAG).
- Coordinate with Emergency Management staff and grant applicants throughout the application process.
- Monitor grant documentation to ensure compliance with State and Federal requirements.
- Track project progress, maintain accurate records, and assist with reporting.
- Review financial documentation and supporting materials for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders regarding grant requirements and project status.
- Perform additional administrative and grant-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of grant administration, grant coordination, medical billing, or accounting experience.
- Minimum 5 years of overall professional work experience.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Experience working with confidential or financial documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat.
- Previous experience with State or Federal grant programs.
- Knowledge of grant compliance, budgeting, or financial reporting.
- Experience working in emergency management, government, or nonprofit grant administration.
