General Laborer (Freezer)

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking dependable and hardworking General Laborers to support freezer and repackaging operations within a food manufacturing facility in Brockport, NY. This temp-to-perm opportunity provides candidates the chance to build long-term manufacturing experience while supporting daily production operations. The General Laborer will assist with material handling, product flow, staging, and maintaining a clean and safe production environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in cold storage environments.
Pay Rate:
- $17.10/Hour
- $1.00/Hour Shift Differential for 2nd Shift
- $2.00/Hour Shift Differential for 3rd Shift
Shift(s):
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Job Duties:
- Support production operations by ensuring a steady flow of vegetables and materials to repackaging lines
- Stage and open raw product totes for production use
- Break down, stack, and organize empty totes and pallets
- Assist line operators and team leaders in maintaining efficient production flow
- Perform material handling tasks to reduce downtime and prevent production interruptions
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards within assigned work areas
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety procedures, and company policies
- Identify and report safety concerns, quality issues, or production obstacles
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support additional production duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience preferred but not required
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Reliable transportation required
- Dependable attendance and willingness to support production needs
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Ability to work in freezer and cold storage environments for extended periods
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive motions
- Ability to lift, move, and handle production materials regularly
- Comfortable working around production equipment and moving machinery
- Exposure to cold temperatures, noise, and industrial conditions
- Must follow all required PPE, food safety, and workplace safety procedures
- Ability to maintain productivity and quality standards in a fast-paced environment
