The Gallon Tea Line Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the gallon tea production line to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality product manufacturing. This role involves equipment setup, quality checks, troubleshooting production issues, and adherence to food safety and GMP standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor gallon tea production and packaging equipment.
  • Set up production lines according to production schedules and product specifications.
  • Ensure products meet quality, safety, and customer standards.
  • Monitor fill weights, bottle integrity, labels, caps, and date codes.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct line inspections and quality checks throughout production runs.
  • Complete production documentation accurately and timely.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP requirements, and food safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with sanitation standards.
  • Assist with product changeovers and line startups/shutdowns.
  • Communicate production issues to supervisors and maintenance personnel.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Adhere to all company safety procedures and use required PPE.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, food production, beverage production, or packaging experience preferred.
  • Experience operating automated production equipment is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to operate production machinery safely and effectively.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read production schedules, work instructions, and quality specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic math and recording skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment

  • Food and beverage manufacturing facility.
  • Exposure to moving machinery, noise, and wet production areas.
  • Rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on production demands.
