Overview
Client is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to architect, deploy, and support information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) solutions for a mission-critical manufacturing site in Richardson, Texas. This role partners with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy infrastructure and software solutions that support semiconductor manufacturing and business operations.
The position focuses on operational support of virtual and physical server infrastructure, VMware environments, Windows and Linux server administration, and Kubernetes-based container platforms. The engineer will help deploy and support advanced automation, equipment integration, fault detection, and process control solutions within a highly available manufacturing environment.
Core Responsibilities
• Provide operational support for on-premises server infrastructure, including both physical and virtualized environments, while maintaining alignment with corporate standards and 24x7 site requirements.
• Support and administer VMware technologies, including vSphere, vSAN, VCF/NSX, and hyper-converged infrastructure platforms such as Dell VxRail.
• Deploy, manage, and support Kubernetes and Docker-based container environments in production.
• Troubleshoot performance issues across physical and virtual server workloads and implement solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Facilitate deployment of new technology stacks and migrate workloads from physical servers to virtualized platforms where appropriate.
• Collaborate with semiconductor process and equipment vendors to optimize infrastructure performance and fault tolerance.
• Participate in site and corporate meetings to resolve application, infrastructure, and operational issues.
• Engage with manufacturing operations and factory systems teams through daily support and coordination activities.
• Partner with corporate IT and security teams to maintain infrastructure in accordance with cybersecurity standards and requirements.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise server ecosystems in an operational environment.
• 5+ years of experience administering Windows Server operating systems and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 5 through 9.x.
• 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow or a comparable formal service management platform and/or methodology.
• 3+ years of experience with virtualization technologies including VMware, vSAN, vSphere, and VCF/NSX.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience implementing and managing Kubernetes in production environments. Candidates with only academic, lab, training, or tutorial-based Kubernetes exposure will not be considered sufficient.
• 1+ year of experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Experience with server automation and/or infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Tanium, CHEF, JSON, PowerShell, Ruby, or other scripting languages.
• Experience with networking fundamentals, including firewall configuration, VPNs, VLANs, subnetting, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, NAT, routing, and switching.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and technology resilience strategies and processes.
• Ability to document infrastructure, automation scripts, and system configurations to support maintainability and operational continuity.
Preferred Skills or Experience
• Advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Windows patching tools such as Tanium, Windows security standards, and operating system hardening practices.
• Experience across the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and production support.
• Experience supporting network infrastructure, including Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches.
• Experience supporting data recovery platforms such as Rubrik.
• Experience supporting IT/OT systems and applications, including network implementation and segmentation, equipment integration, automation, and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
• Understanding of SCADA environments, manufacturing-focused Windows-based PCs and servers, and industrial network architectures.
• Ability to drive positive organizational change and effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong oral, written, and collaborative communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
