Forklift Operator (Part-Time)

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join a growing warehouse team in Rochester, NY. This Direct Hire opportunity offers long-term stability and growth potential with a well-established organization. The role begins with unloading inbound shipments and transitions into loading outbound trucks as proficiency is demonstrated. Ideal candidates will have recent forklift experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to accurately track inventory using RF scanners. Pay Rate:
- $18.25/Hour
Shift(s):
- 1st Shift: 7:00/8:00 AM Start Time (Flexible Hours)
- 2nd Shift:
4:00/5:00 PM Start Time (Flexible Hours)
- 3-4 Days Per Week
- Approximately 30 Hours Per Week
- Overtime Available on Saturdays
Job Duties:
- Operate sit-down, counterbalanced electric forklifts to unload inbound shipments
- Load outbound trucks accurately and efficiently as responsibilities expand
- Utilize RF scanners to track inventory and verify product placement
- Match long serial numbers and alphanumeric codes with a high degree of accuracy
- Stage materials in designated loading and storage locations
- Follow proper stacking procedures to prevent product damage
- Arrange awkward-shaped pallets and materials for efficient trailer loading
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Adhere to all warehouse safety regulations and company policies
Requirements:
- Recent forklift operating experience required
- Experience operating sit-down, counterbalanced electric forklifts preferred
- Stand-up forklift experience is a plus
- Previous RF scanner experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to match serial numbers and alphanumeric codes
- Good math skills and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, twist, and move throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions
