Work Schedule: Monday–Friday
Work Arrangement: Primarily Remote/Hybrid – Required onsite a few days per month
Travel: Occasional local travel required; transportation will be coordinated and personal vehicles will not be required.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Fiscal Monitor to support fiscal compliance and financial oversight of grant-funded programs and subrecipients. This position will work closely with the Financial Manager to conduct fiscal monitoring, review financial documentation, provide technical assistance, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and grant requirements.

The ideal candidate has experience in finance, budgeting, accounting, or auditing and is comfortable analyzing financial data, reviewing budgets, interpreting regulations, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with fiscal monitoring of grant subrecipients to ensure compliance with grant requirements, Uniform Guidance, and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Review budgets, financial records, expenditures, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare federal, state, and internal financial reports.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to subrecipients, internal staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with the annual allocation of grant funds to subrecipients.
  • Support preparation and documentation for federal and state audits.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standardized fiscal risk assessment tools.
  • Evaluate subrecipient financial and compliance risk.
  • Identify potential fiscal compliance concerns and communicate findings clearly.
  • Maintain accurate monitoring records, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while working independently in a primarily remote environment.
  • Travel periodically to conduct onsite fiscal monitoring and assist subrecipient fiscal teams.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in finance, budgeting, accounting, auditing, or a closely related area.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; Access experience preferred.
  • Ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies or compliance concerns.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, grant requirements, and federal/state regulations.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments.

Preferred Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

A master’s degree in Business Administration or Public Administration is also preferred.
