Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Finishing Machine Associates to join a leading optical manufacturing facility in West Henrietta, NY. This temp-to-perm opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on manufacturing work, machine operation, and precision glass processing in a clean, team-oriented environment. Associates will operate specialized equipment used to shape and finish optical components while maintaining strict quality and production standards.
This position requires candidates to meet ITAR requirements(U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident).
Pay Rate:
- $19.00 - $21.00 (+), Based On Exp.
- + 10% Shift Diff., B-Shift
Shift(s):
- 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM, Mon. - Fri.
- 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM, Mon. - Fri.
Job Duties:
- Operate equipment used to process precision optical glass components
- Perform glass processing including core drilling, dicing, laser marking, beveling, unwaxing, and cleaning
- Operate hand, semi-automatic, and automatic finishing equipment
- Perform visual inspections and dimensional measurements using precision measuring equipment
- Verify product quality and identify non-conforming material
- Escalate quality or production concerns to leadership
- Read and follow work instructions and manufacturing documentation
- Maintain production goals while ensuring quality standards are met
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams
- Support additional manufacturing operations as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
- Optical manufacturing, machining, or glass processing experience is a plus
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Ability to distinguish colors and perform detailed visual inspections
- Strong math and measurement skills
- Ability to learn new equipment and manufacturing processes
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident)
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Manufacturing environment producing precision optical components
- Frequent standing or sitting for extended periods
- Frequent repetitive hand movements and fine motor tasks
- Occasional lifting of light materials
- Exposure to precision manufacturing equipment
- Must maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Ability to work safely while meeting production deadlines
