Position: Finishing Associate

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a detail-oriented Finishing Associate to join an advanced optical manufacturing team in West Henrietta, NY. This temp-to-perm opportunity provides the chance to build a long-term career in precision manufacturing while gaining hands-on experience in a clean, high-tech production environment. The Finishing Associate will support optical filter manufacturing by performing glass processing operations, inspecting products, and ensuring finished components meet strict quality standards. This role is ideal for individuals with strong attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, and an interest in working with precision equipment and advanced manufacturing processes.

Pay Rate:

  • $18.00 - $21.00/Hour
    • + 10% Shift Differential for B Shift

Shift(s):

  • A Shift: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM | Monday - Friday
  • B Shift:  1:00 PM - 9:30 PM | Monday - Friday
    • Training Schedule: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM | Monday - Friday (Approx. 4-6 Weeks)

Job Duties:

  • Perform glass processing operations including:
    • Core drilling
    • Dicing
    • Laser marking
    • Unwaxing
    • Hand, semi-automatic, and automatic beveling
    • Cleaning and other glass finishing processes
  • Take precise physical and visual measurements using specialized tools and equipment
  • Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met
  • Identify non-conforming materials and place appropriate product holds
  • Communicate production delays, defects, or quality concerns to leadership
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production and quality goals
  • Support daily manufacturing schedules and productivity expectations

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Basic computer skills and math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow technical work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Good manual dexterity and fine motor skills
  • Strong visual acuity with the ability to identify color and quality variations
  • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a team-based environment
  • Ability to work in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Must be eligible to work in an ITAR-registered facility
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts and overtime as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with glass processing, optical manufacturing, or precision production
  • Experience with cleaning, finishing, or inspection processes
  • Machine shop experience or familiarity with precision equipment
  • Experience with dicing equipment or similar manufacturing machinery
  • Strong communication skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequent use of hands for precision handling and detailed work
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions while maintaining quality standards
  • Ability to lift and move light materials as needed
  • Comfortable working in a clean manufacturing environment
