Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support plant accounting and finance operations within a manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in inventory accounting, fixed asset management, financial reporting, month-end close activities, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of general ledger accounting, and experience working with manufacturing financials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with internal and external audit activities.
  • Review and audit quarterly fixed assets, including additions, retirements, true-ups, and maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Perform monthly inventory balancing for:
    • Raw Materials
    • Work-in-Process (WIP)
    • Finished Goods (FG)
    • Supplies
    • Intercompany charges
  • Assist with physical inventories of:
    • Finished Goods
    • Work-in-Process
    • Board Inventory
    • Supplies
    • Company Assets
  • Monitor raw material and finished goods inventory levels and communicate findings to Finance and Plant leadership.
  • Support the month-end financial close and consolidation process.
  • Coordinate with corporate finance teams to provide monthly financial reporting and supporting information.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies identified during month-end reporting.
  • Assist with working capital reporting and analysis for the manufacturing facility.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and develop Margin Enhancement initiatives.
  • Support department managers with financial data, reporting, and analysis.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, KPI reporting, and implementation of financial consolidation tools.
  • Analyze financial statements and investigate significant variances.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Production teams to:
    • Resolve accounting discrepancies
    • Ensure proper revenue recognition
    • Verify transaction timing
    • Approve monthly AP accruals
  • Review and analyze job costing reports and investigate cost variances.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing accounting or plant finance.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • General Ledger accounting
    • Fixed Assets
    • Inventory Accounting
    • Job Costing
    • Financial Reporting
  • Experience supporting month-end close and financial consolidations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Production, and Corporate teams.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
