Our client is looking for several Network Technicians who have a proven track record in:
- Racking and stacking of network devices
- Cable patching
- Physical layer troubleshooting
- Equipment disposal activities
This position will support facilities management, site security, and project engagement with a commitment and desire to satisfy our customers by completing all work at the highest level, always striving for perfection. The candidate must be motivated and self-driven for success.
Position Details:
- Hourly position based on experience & skill level
- Long-term contract with possible contract extension or hire
- Standard work hours: Mon-Fri 9:00 am-6:00 pm (OT, may include nights and weekends)
- Location: Mobile worker within commutable distance or residing in San Francisco, CA
- Travel Radius: up to 4 hours from Location
- Candidates must have a valid Driver's License & a dependable vehicle that can support carrying a 6-foot ladder
- Required tools.

Responsibilities:
- The patching cabling between network equipment and the customer's network.
- Can provide network connectivity to the user end devices.
- The installation, troubleshooting, and de-installing of network equipment.
- Install and troubleshoot cabling
- Can provide connectivity to user-end devices
- Provide layer 1 support
- Basic telephony skills/knowledge
- Good customer service and relations
- Rack and Stack
- Knowledge of switches and routers

- Wireless Access Points
- Extend circuits from the MPOE through the riser system to devices in the MDF or IDF
- Troubleshoot circuits
- Knowledge of hyper terminal and PuTTY

- Large-scale user relocations
- Can work independently or with a team.
- Capable of taking instructions or leading a team.
- Completes numerous tickets daily
- Routing / Mapping out their daily travel route in the best order to complete all assigned work orders
- Returns phone calls, text messages, and emails in a timely manner
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
Requirements:
- Requires experience in working in communications closets
- Must be able to perform rack and stack activities.
- Must be able to safely lift heavy objects
- Must understand cable patching processes and procedures
- Must have a basic knowledge of data communications networking and basic telephony.
- Must be able to assist in troubleshooting issues
- Must understand network terminology
- Must be familiar with IP phone
- Must be able to program Cisco phones
- Must be able to install Cisco VOIP phones
- Must be able to troubleshoot Cisco phones
- Requires good interpersonal communications skills
- Must be able to explain technical issues in a way the customer will understand an issue
- Must be able to interpret a customer's issue in a way that will allow the technician to facilitate a resolution
Experience and Education:
- Min 3 years of experience in data communications
- Must have a basic knowledge of Cisco Phones, switches, and routers
- Must have a basic knowledge of local and wide area networking.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
