Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a Facilities & Safety Supervisor to lead facility maintenance, equipment reliability, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance efforts within a manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role combines technical maintenance expertise with safety program management, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who is passionate about creating a safe, productive, and efficient workplace.
Pay Rate:
- $85,000 – $105,000/Year
Shift:
- Day Shift | Monday – Friday
- Additional hours as needed to support operations and emergency situations
Key Responsibilities:
Facilities & Maintenance Management
- Oversee facility maintenance operations and equipment reliability programs
- Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and infrastructure
- Maintain CNC machines, waterjets, lathes, grinders, Bridgeports, wire EDM equipment, and related machinery
- Coordinate maintenance of forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts, compressors, HVAC systems, and building systems
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs
- Maintain work order systems, maintenance records, and service documentation
- Manage maintenance purchasing, contractors, vendors, and facility service providers
- Coordinate landscaping, snow removal, waste management, and facility support services
Safety & Compliance Leadership
- Develop and administer workplace safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations
- Conduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and facility inspections
- Lead initiatives to reduce workplace injuries and improve safety performance
- Maintain SDS documentation and hazardous material compliance programs
- Coordinate fire protection inspections and compliance activities
- Support ergonomic assessments and risk reduction initiatives
Training & Employee Development
- Develop and deliver safety training programs
- Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee education initiatives
- Maintain training records and certification documentation
- Promote employee engagement in safety and continuous improvement programs
Incident Management & Workers' Compensation
- Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near-miss events
- Complete root cause analyses and corrective action plans
- Manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs
- Coordinate with insurance carriers, medical providers, and third-party administrators
- Track incident trends and implement proactive improvement measures
Leadership Responsibilities
- Supervise custodial staff and assigned personnel
- Provide coaching, performance management, and employee development
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training efforts
- Manage departmental priorities and support operational objectives
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, facilities maintenance, safety, or a related field
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining manufacturing equipment and facility systems
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience required
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
- Experience with maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or technical certification in Facilities Management, Safety, Maintenance Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field
- Experience servicing CNC equipment and advanced manufacturing machinery
- Workers' compensation administration experience
- Professional safety certifications (CSP, OHST, CIH, or equivalent)
- Experience in ISO-certified manufacturing environments
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Manufacturing and industrial facility environment
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and equipment inspections
- Exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and maintenance activities
- Ability to respond to facility emergencies and maintenance needs
- Occasional lifting and physical work associated with facility maintenance
- Required use of PPE and adherence to all safety procedures
