Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Nesco Resource is seeking a hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician
for a client in Lakeland, FL. This individual will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repair throughout the facility, including the welding shop and machining shop.
The ideal candidate is a mechanically inclined, dependable problem-solver who is comfortable handling a variety of maintenance tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong general maintenance background who enjoys being the person everyone calls when something needs to be repaired, maintained, or fixed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair throughout the welding and machining shops.
- Assist with basic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Repair and maintain facility doors, fans, flooring, and other general building equipment.
- Perform basic flooring repairs or replacement as needed.
- Conduct routine maintenance and upkeep on forklifts, including lubrication and oiling of equipment.
- Assist with minor forklift repairs and identify mechanical issues that may require additional service.
- Perform preventative maintenance to help keep equipment and the facility operating efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and repair general facility and shop-related maintenance issues.
- Inspect equipment and facility areas to identify maintenance needs or potential safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate maintenance needs, repairs, and larger equipment issues to management.
- Perform other general maintenance and repair duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, shop maintenance, or a similar hands-on maintenance role.
- Basic plumbing experience required.
- Experience performing general building and facility repairs.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience working around industrial equipment.
- Experience with forklift maintenance, preventative maintenance, lubrication, or minor repairs preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of general maintenance issues.
- Comfortable working in a welding and machining shop environment.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipment safely.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials and equipment as needed.
