Payrate: starts @ $16.00 an hour
Hours: Monday - Friday 6:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
A case fitter is a furniture manufacturing worker who builds the main exterior shell of "casegoods " (storage furniture like dressers, cabinets, and desks) and precisely fits movable components like drawers and doors.
- Frame Assembly :Receives raw panels, end pieces, tops, and bottoms from machining departments to construct the structural outer "case " frame.
- Drawer Fitting :Tests, planes, or trims the sides and bottoms of wooden drawers so they slide smoothly and evenly into the case openings without binding.
- Door and Hardware Installation :Hangs doors, attaches hinges, inserts magnetic catches, and aligns lid supports or stops so everything opens and closes properly.
