Overview
The role involves providing precise and timely project estimating support while overseeing assigned projects from start to finish. This position is crucial for generating new business opportunities, preparing competitive quotes, and ensuring successful project execution that aligns with customer expectations, budget requirements, and schedule commitments. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, and experienced in the construction industry, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and execute field activities to meet project timelines and milestones.
- Develop accurate and timely estimates based on customer requests and site visits.
- Conduct job walks to gather necessary site information for estimates.
- Prepare project quotes that align with customer scope, budget, and site conditions.
- Ensure timely ordering of materials and components for project execution.
- Coordinate with Field Managers and Operations teams to validate labor and equipment needs.
- Manage projects from planning through execution and closeout, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and budget.
- Monitor and control project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment rentals.
- Identify and resolve project issues while implementing preventative measures.
- Prepare and process bidding documents, scopes of work, and related project paperwork.
- Develop value-engineering solutions to optimize cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
- Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage subcontractor execution, scheduling, and performance requirements.
- Coordinate equipment scheduling and availability to support field operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in estimating and project management.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong follow-up skills.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and prepare material takeoffs and estimates.
- Solid mathematical skills applicable to construction estimating and project planning.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years of pipe fitting experience.
- 3 years of supervisory experience in a field/job site environment.
- 5 years of office and field management or technical services experience.
- Industrial construction/maintenance experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing disciplines.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with the capacity to direct and guide others effectively.
