Equipment Mechanic

Nesco Resource is seeking an Equipment Mechanic to join our client's Plastics Division in Elmira NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined individual looking to build a career in manufacturing. On-the-job training is provided, making this a great opportunity for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude who may not have previous plastics experience.

Monday thru Friday
Shift : 2nd Shift
3pm to 11pm
Pay:$25.00–$30.00 per hour

The Equipment Mechanic will support production by setting up and troubleshooting thermoforming equipment, making adjustments to achieve production goals, interpreting design drawings, and performing quality checks. The successful candidate will be mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and willing to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust thermoforming equipment to meet production goals
• Troubleshoot equipment and identify mechanical issues
• Interpret and work from design drawings and specifications
• Perform quality checks to ensure products meet established standards
• Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as needed
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Work closely with production team members to minimize downtime and maintain productivity
• Follow company procedures and meet all established production and quality requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to learn and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
• Must be willing to work 2nd shift
• Vocational or technical training is a plus
• Previous manufacturing, machine setup, maintenance, or mechanical experience is helpful but not required
• Must meet all client hiring qualifications
