Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-minded Painter to join our Paint Department. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for applying powder or wet paint coatings to metal parts and assemblies in accordance with job specifications and quality standards. You'll contribute to the production of high-quality, finished components that support our customers across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Painting & Finishing: Apply paint or powder coat to metal parts using spray guns or other application methods in a paint booth or production line setting.
- Surface Prep: Clean, mask, and prepare surfaces for painting by removing rust, oil, or debris using solvents, sanders, or hand tools.
- Quality Inspection: Visually inspect painted parts for proper coverage, color match, thickness, and finish consistency. Touch up or rework as necessary.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain spray guns, paint booths, curing ovens, and related painting equipment according to safety and quality protocols.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain production logs, track part numbers, and record quantities or material usage as directed.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with loaders/unloaders and supervisors to coordinate part flow and meet production goals.
- Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Previous experience in industrial painting or powder coating preferred.
- Familiarity with spray painting techniques and equipment.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and quality control standards.
- Strong attention to detail and visual inspection skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and follow all safety practices and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- This position requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a production environment where protective equipment is required.
- Exposure to paint fumes, solvents, and heat from curing ovens; proper ventilation and PPE are provided.
- Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed to meet production demands.
