Nesco Resource is currently seeking a Entry Level CNC Machine Operator to set up and operate CNC machinery to produce high-quality machined parts for our client in Clinton Township, MI. The ideal candidate will have basic CNC experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and understand machining specifications.
Responsibilities
- Review work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and machining requirements to determine proper machining processes.
- Read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Check material inventory and ensure the proper stock is available for production.
- Set up CNC mills by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, and other tooling.
- Indicate vises and tram machine heads as required.
- Load and position raw materials into the machine.
- Verify machine settings by measuring tool positions and inspecting first-run and sample parts.
- Operate CNC equipment to perform drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, and threading operations.
- Take measurements throughout the production process to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Identify equipment or process issues and troubleshoot problems as needed.
- Follow established quality control procedures and maintain required production standards.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all company safety policies and regulations.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Report equipment issues and coordinate repairs when necessary.
- Maintain accurate production records and communicate important information, issues, and ongoing needs between shifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Basic CNC machine operation and setup experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and measuring equipment.
- Understanding of GD&T preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
- Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and production requirements.
Education & Training
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in machining, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- Prior basic CNC experience is required.
- Previous experience with CNC mill setup and operation is preferred.
