Position Summary
Hands-on lab technician role supporting coatings formulation and testing. This position is a mix of wet chemistry (formulation, chemical handling) and testing work. The role requires strong attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, and comfort working in a chemical lab environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare coating formulations and lab batches per standard procedures
Handle chemicals safely (solvents, resins, additives)
Perform routine lab testing:
- Chemical and physical testing
- Coating application and evaluation
- Durability and mechanical testing
- Operate lab equipment (balances, mixers, ovens, test instruments)
- Record and enter data
- Maintain lab cleanliness and follow safety protocols
- Support troubleshooting and general lab activities as needed Qualifications
Hands-on experience in chemistry, biology, materials science, or closely related laboratory is required. Experience may be gained through college laboratory coursework, research, an internship or co-op, or prior employment.
Comfortable working with chemicals and PPE
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures and instructions
accurately
Ability to remain focused and complete assigned laboratory tasks accurately with minimal
interruption
Basic computer and data entry skills
