Join our team in Phoenix, AZ, as a leader in a dynamic engineering environment focused on manufacturing excellence. We are looking for a seasoned professional to guide a high-performing engineering team in producing complex precision components. This role involves driving continuous improvement, optimizing processes, supporting new product introductions, and fostering cross-functional collaboration in a regulated manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all manufacturing engineering activities to ensure efficient production support and continuous process improvement.
  • Manage and develop the engineering team through coaching, mentoring, and talent development.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts, including planning, tooling, work instructions, and process development.
  • Ensure accurate engineering configuration management within the ERP system.
  • Coordinate manufacturing documentation, including travelers, operation sheets, tooling, and process documentation.
  • Maintain control over engineering drawings and document management systems.
  • Support production by troubleshooting issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to meet production goals.
  • Conduct contract and technical reviews for new customer orders.
  • Perform Make vs. Buy analyses to optimize manufacturing strategies.
  • Evaluate manufacturing costs and assist in pricing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR regulations and support import/export licensing requirements.
  • Build strong customer relationships and support technical discussions and issue resolution.
  • Identify and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with domestic and international manufacturing locations for engineering alignment and successful program execution.
  • Travel internationally as required by business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Previous leadership or management experience in engineering teams.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
  • Strong background in machining, manufacturing processes, and assembly operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing documentation.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, solid modeling, and CNC programming.
  • Understanding of configuration management and engineering change control.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments such as aerospace, defense, or medical devices.
  • Knowledge of ITAR regulations and import/export compliance.
