Overview

Client is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and test real-time embedded software. This role will analyze algorithm descriptions and an existing software codebase to determine appropriate architectural changes. Development is primarily performed in C , with some existing algorithms written in Ada, targeting Linux and Rocky Linux environments.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement real-time embedded software.
  • Analyze algorithm descriptions provided by systems engineering.
  • Review the existing software codebase and determine appropriate architectural changes.
  • Develop software using C within an Agile development environment.
  • Support software development from requirements analysis through integration, acceptance testing, and delivery.
  • Integrate and test software with associated hardware.
  • Develop software for Linux and Rocky Linux targets using Linux, Rocky Linux, and Windows development hosts.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering, and testing teams.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

  • Active Secret clearance with the most recent investigation completed within the last 5 years.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Real-time embedded software development experience using C and Linux.
  • Software and hardware integration and testing experience.
  • Experience supporting requirements analysis, software development, integration, and acceptance testing.

Preferred Skills or Experience

  • Knowledge of RTI Data Distribution Services.
  • Knowledge of publish/subscribe communication protocols.
  • Common Object Request Broker Architecture experience.
  • CMake development experience.
  • Familiarity with embedded real-time Ada programming.
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary software engineering teams.
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

Work Details

  • Onsite full-time position.
  • 4/10A, first-shift work schedule.
