About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Product Design Engineer to join an established and growing manufacturing organization in Tulsa. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on developing electrical designs for custom industrial equipment and integrated systems.

You’ll take ownership of assigned projects from initial requirements and electrical design through drawing release and manufacturing support. Working alongside Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, and other internal teams, you’ll help develop reliable, practical electrical solutions that meet technical specifications, safety standards, and production requirements.

This opportunity is a strong fit for an engineer who enjoys solving complex design challenges, working with industrial electrical systems, and seeing projects move from engineering concepts to completed equipment.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop electrical systems, equipment layouts, and assemblies for industrial applications.

  • Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnection drawings, conductor schedules, and bills of material (BOMs).

  • Review project requirements and technical specifications to develop electrical solutions that meet performance, safety, and operational needs.

  • Perform engineering calculations and apply applicable electrical codes and industry standards.

  • Coordinate with Mechanical Engineering to integrate electrical components into complete equipment designs.

  • Manage assigned engineering projects from initial design through drawing release and production.

  • Partner with Project Management to track schedules, coordinate deliverables, and meet project deadlines.

  • Support engineering changes, drawing revisions, and technical documentation.

  • Work directly with Manufacturing to troubleshoot design issues and improve equipment assembly and production efficiency.

  • Participate in design reviews, testing, quality verification, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to clarify technical requirements and resolve engineering questions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Professional experience in industrial electrical design, electrical equipment engineering, or electrical product development.

  • Proficiency with 2D CAD software and the ability to produce detailed electrical engineering drawings.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, components, and equipment integration.

  • Familiarity with applicable electrical codes, engineering standards, and safe design practices.

  • Ability to perform engineering calculations and troubleshoot technical design challenges.

  • Experience maintaining BOMs, engineering drawings, and related technical documentation.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams.

Experience That Could Be Helpful

  • Industrial power distribution equipment, motor control systems, or custom electrical assemblies.

  • Experience with low- and medium-voltage electrical systems.

  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70) and applicable UL standards.

  • Experience with AutoCAD or comparable electrical drafting and design software.

  • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools and electromechanical equipment integration.

  • Custom equipment manufacturing or engineered-to-order environments.

  • Understanding of equipment assembly, manufacturing processes, and production testing.

  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems used to manage engineering and production information.

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Who This Could Be a Great Fit For

This is more than a drafting position. We’re looking for an electrical engineer who understands how to develop a complete, workable design—not just produce drawings.

If you enjoy translating technical requirements into electrical designs, solving equipment integration challenges, and collaborating with manufacturing to bring engineered systems to life, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful projects from design through production.
