Day Shift (Monday–Friday)
We are working with a Rochester-based advanced manufacturing / electronics company seeking a Customer Support Engineering Technician to support post-sales technical issues, repairs, and customer integration efforts.
This is a hands-on, technical role supporting both customers and internal engineering teams. Strong troubleshooting ability and comfort working with electronic assemblies are key.
Duties
• Take ownership of customer-reported technical issues through resolution
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and document findings
• Support customers with installation, setup, and integration challenges
• Perform soldering, de-soldering, and rework on electronic assemblies (ESD compliant)
• Evaluate and repair returned equipment (RMA process)
• Track and analyze trends related to product performance and customer use
• Contribute to internal knowledge base, FAQs, and technical documentation
• Assist with technical training for internal teams and customers
• Escalate complex issues to engineering, product, or applications teams as needed
• Serve as a liaison between customers and internal technical teams
• Experience troubleshooting electronic systems (hardware/software)
• Hands-on experience with soldering and board-level repair
• Ability to diagnose issues using tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, or similar
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Requirements
• IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification
• Experience with electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
• General proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
