Design the Electrical Infrastructure Behind Custom Industrial Equipment.

We're partnering with an established industrial manufacturer seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong experience in electrical power distribution and industrial electrical systems.

This engineer will be responsible for designing and supporting electrical systems used in custom-engineered industrial equipment and facilities. You'll work closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, project management, and production teams to develop electrical solutions from initial design through fabrication, testing, installation, and startup.

This is a hands-on engineering opportunity for someone who enjoys solving real-world electrical problems and seeing their designs move from drawings to completed equipment.

What You'll Do

Electrical Distribution & System Design

  • Design and develop electrical power distribution systems for industrial equipment and applications
  • Develop electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and distribution drawings
  • Size and select transformers, switchgear, disconnects, breakers, motor starters, VFDs, and other electrical components
  • Perform electrical calculations related to load requirements, voltage drop, short-circuit current, and system capacity
  • Design systems in accordance with applicable NEC, NFPA, UL, and industry standards
  • Review electrical designs for safety, reliability, performance, and manufacturability

Engineering & Project Support

  • Develop and maintain electrical drawings, BOMs, specifications, and other engineering documentation
  • Review customer requirements and project specifications and translate them into practical electrical designs
  • Coordinate electrical engineering activities with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and project teams
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input throughout project execution
  • Support engineering changes and continuous improvement initiatives

Manufacturing, Testing & Commissioning

  • Work directly with manufacturing and production teams to resolve electrical design and installation issues
  • Support equipment testing, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and startup
  • Diagnose electrical problems involving power distribution, motors, controls, and industrial equipment
  • Provide technical guidance during fabrication and equipment startup
  • Occasionally support field activities and customer installations as needed

What We're Looking For

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field

3+ years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial, manufacturing, OEM, process equipment, or similar environment

Hands-on experience designing or supporting electrical power distribution systems

Experience with electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and electrical system design

Strong understanding of industrial power distribution, motor systems, transformers, breakers, disconnects, and electrical protection

Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, UL, or other applicable electrical codes and standards

Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD, or similar electrical design software

Preferred

  • Experience with industrial machinery or custom-engineered equipment
  • Experience with load calculations, voltage drop, short-circuit calculations, or power system studies
  • Familiarity with VFDs, motor controls, PLC-controlled equipment, and instrumentation
  • Experience with control panels and industrial automation
  • Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, or startup
  • Familiarity with industrial communication networks
  • PE license or progress toward PE

Why This Opportunity

  • Design electrical systems that become real-world industrial equipment

  • Take ownership of projects from engineering and design through testing and startup

  • Work closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and project teams
  • Solve challenging electrical and power distribution problems in a hands-on environment
  • Have a direct impact on equipment performance, reliability, and production
  • Join an established organization offering long-term career growth
