Nesco Resource is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support a large-scale industrial engineering and capital project. This position will work onsite in Houston, TX and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers and project professionals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical engineering and experience supporting EPC, chemical, petrochemical, refining, manufacturing, energy or similar heavy industrial projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review electrical engineering deliverables for industrial projects.
- Develop and review single-line diagrams, power distribution systems, electrical equipment layouts and electrical design packages.
- Perform electrical calculations including load flow, voltage drop, short-circuit and protection/coordination calculations.
- Support low- and medium-voltage electrical systems.
- Develop specifications and data sheets for switchgear, MCCs, transformers, motors, VFDs and related electrical equipment.
- Perform cable, wire and conduit sizing and related electrical calculations.
- Review vendor drawings and technical documentation.
- Develop and review electrical construction and installation specifications.
- Coordinate with designers and other engineering disciplines throughout project execution.
- Support equipment selection, procurement and technical bid evaluations as needed.
- Provide construction, startup and commissioning support as required.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, project specifications and engineering standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 6+ years of industrial electrical engineering experience preferred.
- Previous EPC or large capital-project experience strongly preferred.
- Experience within chemical, petrochemical, refining, manufacturing, energy or similar industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of NEC and applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Experience with low- and medium-voltage power distribution.
- Experience developing electrical calculations, equipment specifications and construction deliverables.
- Strong multidisciplinary coordination and communication skills.
- Experience with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower or similar electrical analysis software is preferred.
- PE registration is a plus, particularly for senior-level candidates.
