Design the Electrical Systems That Power Industrial Equipment.

We're partnering with a growing industrial manufacturer seeking an Electrical CAD Designer/Drafter  to develop detailed electrical drawings and design documentation for custom industrial equipment. Working alongside engineering and manufacturing teams, you'll create electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and production documentation that support equipment from concept through fabrication.

If you enjoy solving design challenges, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams, and seeing your work become finished equipment, this is an outstanding opportunity to join a stable, project-driven manufacturing environment.

What You'll Own

Electrical Design & Drafting

  • Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for custom industrial equipment

  • Develop accurate electrical drawings and CAD models that support manufacturing and assembly

  • Prepare production, fabrication, installation, and electrical documentation packages

  • Interpret engineering concepts and convert them into production-ready electrical designs

  • Ensure drawings meet company standards, customer requirements, and manufacturing needs

Engineering Documentation

  • Maintain engineering drawings, revisions, and document control

  • Create and update bills of materials (BOMs)

  • Revise electrical drawings to reflect engineering changes and customer requirements

  • Verify drawing accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability before release

  • Support engineering documentation throughout each phase of the project

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Project Management throughout the design process

  • Support production by resolving drawing questions and implementing design revisions

  • Assist with improving drafting standards and engineering documentation practices

  • Coordinate multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting project deadlines

What We're Looking For

Associate degree in Drafting, Electrical Engineering Technology, Design Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience

2+ years of electrical drafting or electrical design experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment

Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD, or similar electrical CAD software

Experience creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and bills of materials

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements

Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, control panels, electrical components, and drafting standards

Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments

You'll Excel Here If You...

  • Enjoy designing custom electrical systems instead of repetitive production work.

  • Like collaborating with engineers and manufacturing teams to solve real-world design challenges.

  • Take pride in producing accurate drawings that help projects move efficiently from design to production.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where every project is unique.

  • Want to see your designs become finished equipment on the production floor.

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based with regular interaction throughout an active manufacturing facility. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams while supporting projects from concept through fabrication. PPE—including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear—is required when entering production areas. The manufacturing environment includes typical industrial conditions such as noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
