Summary:
Nesco Resource is seeking a Distribution & Warehouse Operations Manager
to lead warehouse and logistics operations in Rochester, NY. This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end distribution, including receiving, inventory control, shipping, and transportation to distribution centers and customers. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, logistics expertise, and a proven ability to drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement across warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping across multiple sites
- Manage outbound transportation to distribution centers and direct-ship customers
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing warehouse teams
- Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counting and root cause analysis
- Optimize warehouse layout, slotting, and material flow for efficiency and safety
- Oversee carrier performance, transportation planning, and freight cost management
- Partner cross-functionally with production, planning, quality, customer service, and finance teams
- Ensure compliance with safety standards (OSHA), transportation regulations (DOT/FMCSA), and company policies
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen)
- Manage budgets, labor planning, and operational costs
- Support peak operations planning and business continuity strategies
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 7–10+ years of experience in warehousing, distribution, or logistics
- Strong leadership experience managing teams and operations
- Experience with multi-site warehouse operations preferred
- ERP/WMS/TMS experience required (SAP preferred)
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and logistics compliance standards
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Combination of office, warehouse, and manufacturing environments
- Exposure to chemicals, industrial equipment, and active production areas
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout facilities
- Occasional forklift operation
Pay Rate: $102,000 – $133,000/Year (Based On Exp.)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
