Opportunity to Lead and Scale a Growing Manufacturing Operation
About the Role
We are seeking a proven operations leader who has successfully scaled complex manufacturing operations in a heavy industrial environment.
This role oversees Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Facilities/Maintenance, Quality, and Continuous Improvement for a growing industrial equipment manufacturer. The ideal candidate brings experience in engineer-to-order manufacturing, welding, machining, fabrication, and heavy assembly operations, and has successfully led organizations through significant growth and operational expansion.
This position is best suited for someone who has "been where we are going" —a leader who can leverage experience gained in larger, more complex manufacturing organizations to make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Facilities/Maintenance, Quality, and Continuous Improvement functions while driving performance across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
Growth & Organizational Scalability
- Build the systems, processes, leadership structure, and operational capacity needed to support continued growth and increasing customer demand.
Continuous Improvement
- Champion Lean Manufacturing initiatives and drive measurable improvements in throughput, efficiency, inventory performance, and profitability.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management
- Oversee planning, inventory, warehousing, and logistics functions to support operational excellence and customer delivery performance.
Leadership & Team Development
- Develop high-performing leaders and foster a culture of accountability, safety, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Current or previous experience as a Director of Operations, Plant Director, Director of Manufacturing, General Manager, or Senior Operations Manager within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven success leading multi-functional operations through significant growth, capacity expansion, operational transformation, or business scaling initiatives.
- Experience overseeing multiple operational functions including Production, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Facilities, Quality, and Warehouse Operations.
- Demonstrated ability to drive measurable improvements in productivity, quality, delivery performance, and profitability.
Strongly Preferred Experience
- Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing environments.
- Manufacturing of complex industrial equipment, machinery, or engineered systems.
- Welding, machining, fabrication, and heavy assembly operations.
- Industrial OEM manufacturing.
- Heat exchangers, air-cooled heat exchangers, industrial cooling systems, pressure vessels, process equipment, oil & gas equipment, or power generation equipment.
- Multi-site manufacturing leadership experience.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent leadership experience will be considered.
Who Will Thrive in This Role
Has successfully led manufacturing organizations through significant growth or expansion
Has built operational infrastructure capable of supporting increased production demand
Has managed welding, machining, fabrication, and heavy assembly operations
Has led Production, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Quality, and Facilities under one leadership structure
Has experience manufacturing large engineered equipment rather than high-volume commodity products
Can make an immediate impact based on experience gained in larger, more complex manufacturing organizations
This Opportunity May Not Be the Best Fit If Your Experience Is Primarily In
- Food & Beverage Manufacturing
- Consumer Packaged Goods
- Injection Molding
- Plastics Manufacturing
- High-Volume Commodity Production
- Highly Automated Manufacturing Environments with Limited Welding, Fabrication, or Heavy Assembly Operations
This role is best suited for leaders with experience manufacturing complex engineered industrial equipment in heavy industrial environments.
Work Environment
This role operates within a manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with production, warehouse, maintenance, and operational teams. Exposure to industrial equipment, welding and fabrication processes, varying temperatures, and manufacturing conditions is expected.
