Seeking a Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of hyperscale data center modules across engineering, manufacturing, and commissioning phases.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve engineering drawings, P&IDs, and documentation
  • Develop deliverables: instrument lists, datasheets, control architecture, alarm schedules, control narratives
  • Support EPC activities including RFQs, technical requisitions, hookups, and validation
  • Perform sizing (control valves, relief valves, flow elements)
  • Conduct vendor bid evaluations and technical reviews
  • Prepare BOMs and MTOs
  • Support manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • Participate in HAZOPs, design reviews, and client meetings
  • Provide construction support (RFIs, site visits)

Requirements

Educational:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering from a
recognized university.
• Professional Engineering License (Strongly Preferred)

Experience:
• A minimum of 7 years' experience in controls and instrument design and engineering, with
a focus on data center infrastructure.
• Ability to produce drawings/sketches to illustrate design/ideas.
• General knowledge and direct experience with the construction, operation, and
maintenance of data center or building electrical systems.
• Experience with high-density data centers and hyperscale environments
• Understands the purpose of control systems for data center facility modules.
• Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including but not limited to
o API – American Petroleum Institute
o ASME – American Society of Mechanical Engineers
o ANSI – American National Standards Institute
o IEC – International Electrotechnical Commission
o IBC – International Building Code
o ISA – International Society of Automation
o OSHA – Occupational Safety and Health Administration
o NEC – National Electric Code
o NFPA – National Fire Protection Association
• Experience working with computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling
(BIM) software.
• Fast track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects
• Ability to review P&IDs and related control systems for complex process equipment.
• Working knowledge of control valves, relief valves, and flow measurement devices.
• Working knowledge of ISA guidelines and symbols for instrumentation.
• Working knowledge of API and ANSI guidelines.
• Ability to offer alternate instrument or valve type from perspectives of cost, space,
schedule, operation, and maintenance.
• Basic understanding of mechanical equipment and system design within data center driving
or affecting electrical scope.
• Direct experience in negotiating with regulatory agencies regarding departures from code
and ultimately achieving design approval and permitting.
Computer Skills:
• Mastery knowledge and proficiency in:
• Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
• PDF Editor (Adobe, Foxit, or other equivalent)
• Operational knowledge in:
• SAP (ERP Tool w/ Engineering Modules and Transactions)
• Solid Works
• Autodesk Revit
• Autodesk BIM 360
• Autodesk AutoCAD
• Navisworks Manager / Freedom
Language: Fluency, both written and verbal, in English.
General:
