Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for dimensional inspections, ensuring product conformance to customer specifications and engineering requirements. This role involves performing in-process and final inspections, analyzing dimensional data, and supporting quality initiatives within the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to conduct dimensional inspections on castings and manufactured components.
  • Perform in-process and layout inspections according to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Interpret and analyze inspection data, effectively communicating findings.
  • Evaluate dimensional results against established standards and tolerances.
  • Perform manual finishing and rework using air tools to correct dimensional defects.
  • Re-inspect and verify reworked areas for compliance and conformance.
  • Utilize conventional inspection equipment such as surface plates, optical comparators, and radius gauges.
  • Support engineering and manufacturing teams with inspection-related activities and quality documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Collaborate in a team environment and support other production areas as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CMM operator and/or CMM programmer.
  • Proficiency in conventional inspection methods and dimensional inspection techniques.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and inspection requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours to meet production demands.
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and performing manual finishing operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with dimensional layout inspection and casting inspection processes.
  • Understanding of quality systems and manufacturing inspection standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Capability to sit at a desk or workstation for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work with hands and hand tools.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
